The experience of a river can be many things, from the feeling of icy water on bare skin to the appreciation of its movements. These water movements can create beautiful patterns however momentarily. A fast shutter speed freezes abstract patterns such as the rippled surface refracting sunlight onto coloured rocks. In other situations the flowing surface of the water is seen with a longer exposure, and sometimes both a long exposure with a flash reveal a complex world of chaotic forces. Traveling into a landscape and really seeing what happens there can lead to exciting visual experiences. I attempt to capture these phenomenon to reveal something more than can be observed by eye alone.
