This series of images is about pooled water. The 'River' gallery (see another page) explores the properties of water in motion, while in these photographs the water is subordinate to the behavior of light playing across it's surface.
The lake Pamamaroo (NSW) photos do not show exaggerated colour saturation. The sunset had the intensity of traffic lights, boosted by volcanic activity in Indonesia at the time, and the Tonga eruption a few months earlier.
The Lake Mournpall (Vic) images show early morning light masked by the trunks of trees, with some exaggeration and isolation to create abstract patterns. However, the patterns created by foam pushed against the shore are exactly as they appeared, floating on dark water.
